IVY Memorial

Integrated Education Society

Principal Message

It was under the direction of then principal, Mrs Eileen Negi that my journey at Ivy Memorial Integrated Society began as a Science and Mathematics teacher in the primary school on August 29th, 1995.

On January 26th, 1999, a historic day well within its own right, the Board of Directors decided to turn the school from a regular one into an integrated institution where children with special needs were taught together with other students not only to bring an awareness and understanding but also to cater to specially abled students who had the right to be a part of social activities. Apart from this, it was also determined that 25% of the scholars would be studying free of cost. Ivy then shifted from wing no. 7, a rented building in Premnagar to its very own establishment, wing no. 3 on July 1st, 1999.

On 23rd September, 2009, three years after the school received recognition as a High School in 2006, it was chosen to be awarded Pandit Dindayal Upadhyay award for the best secondary result in the whole state, bestowed upon us by the Hon’ble ex Chief Minister Mr. Ramesh Pokhriyal, which can only be called a first in the many upcoming achievements of the institution. Our students have not only participated in various inter-school events, but have also won many laurels on behalf of the school.

In the year 2014, our zealous founder Principal Mrs Eileen Negi passed away, a loss which was akin to losing the light that Ivy Memorial possessed, guiding it against all odds with utmost dedication and enthusiasm. It was a loss at a personal level too as all that I had been taught, I had learnt from her. On March 1st, 2015, I was selected to be the Principal by the Board of Directors, and have been serving as the same since then.
As a parent, one would certainly want the best for their child which is what we strive to achieve with them, ensuring that the little ones are given the right knowledge to face the challenges that life might throw their way. It is our belief that education is not just a process of imparting knowledge for a high-profile job but a lifelong process which creates an understanding of moral and ethical values to guide and make one a morally upright citizen of the country. This is made possible by the management, parents, students, and the teaching fraternity who complement each other’s efforts flawlessly.

We try to create an atmosphere of reverence for education along with a robust environment where academics, sports, and co-curricular facilities together mould our students in the best possible manner and motivate them to be the brightest. In order to do this, the school works towards inculcating certain values in the students to enrich their minds, spirits, and to develop essential moral attributes like truthfulness, courtesy, generosity, compassion, justice, love and trustworthiness which helps them to envision themselves as members of one global family, free from the prejudices of ethnicities, nationalities, gender, and class or religion. While inculcating ideals and imparting knowledge to our students, our school has come a long way, all in furtherance of our founding Principal’s vision which each and every member of our organisation has strived to achieve in their own, culminating into Divyangotsav, another jewel in the crown of Ivy Memorial Integrated Society where differently-abled students showcased their talents in the most awe-inspiring manner, establishing once and for all what a powerhouse they can be.

I am also elated at the inception of Muskurahat and which the society all the best for its new voyage. Our motto is, and will forever be to give our students strong roots similar to a banyan tree and wings stronger than the wind to conquer the world. Thank You…

Mrs. Hema Negi
