My mother, Mrs. Ivy Sheila Mann moved to Dehradun in the year 1941, as my father Mr. E.N.G. Mann got transferred as the Major of the prisoners in the war camp in Clement Town. My mother was a dedicated teacher. She believed in "Gandhi-ism". I followed my mother’s steps and took premature retirement in 1992 to open this society dedicating it to my mother, who always wanted to have a school of her own to help poor and needy children. My mother always believed that the people originating from the backward classes, minorities form a big strength of population and there development can make our country move ahead.
So, henceforth this school was started keeping in mind all my mother’s ideologies. Today, our society runs a school for handicapped and non handicapped children. Our vision is of a world in which all these children can be full and active members of society. Our purpose is to work with - disabled children, their families and professionals - to ensure that everyone facing challenges because of disabilities has access to advice, opportunities and support.
“Set Out Each Day Believing In Your Dreams, Know Without A Doubt That You Were Made For Great Things”…
- Late Mrs. Eileen Negi
{17th August 1932-21th December 2014}
Most people can only dream about seeing an angel, I had the pleasure of living with one my whole life We are remembering you after you flew away suddenly into the heaven.
You left our vision, You left our memories,
We shall walk on the path that you showed Shower your blessing on us.
Mom, the life I live is given by you.
Give me strength to shine, Like a small star,
All your hopes will come true,
You will forever remain in my heart.
