It is my pleasure and a privilege to serve as the President of Ivy Memorial Integrated Education Society not only because this institution was born out of my passion but also because I greatly relish the company of my beloved students and teachers who have come to be such an immense part of my life. Ivy Memorial Integrated Society does not exist as just another foundation in an already long list of educational institutions but it is an establishment which has made a great difference in its qualitative journey panning two decades.
As a parent, one would certainly want the best for their child which is what we strive to achieve with them, ensuring that the little ones are given the right knowledge to face the challenges that life might throw their way. It is our belief that education is not just a process of imparting knowledge for a high-profile job but a lifelong process which creates an understanding of moral and ethical values to guide and make one a morally upright citizen of the country. This is made possible by the management, parents, students, and the teaching fraternity who complement each other’s efforts flawlessly.
We try to create an atmosphere of reverence for education along with a robust environment where academics, sports, and co-curricular facilities together mould our students in the best possible manner and motivate them to be the brightest. In order to do this, the school works towards inculcating certain values in the students to enrich their minds, spirits, and to develop essential moral attributes like truthfulness, courtesy, generosity, compassion, justice, love and trustworthiness which helps them to envision themselves as members of one global family, free from the prejudices of ethnicities, nationalities, gender, and class or religion.
Ivy has sown one more sapling in the state of Uttarakhand called ‘Muskurahar’. Muskurahat is a vocational training centre for the children and adults with special needs which provides 100% placement to all the children enrolled under the branch.
Speaking of Divyangotsav, its vision is singular: to proclaim all around that there exists no difference between our students and everyone else. It is a brainchild of over twenty years of perseverance and diligence, with an intention of creating the well-deserved awareness towards differently-abled children, who form an integral part of our institution and who are not only capable of being productive members of the society but also of earning their own livelihood. I am thankful to all those who believed in us and our children, the representatives of all our hopes and dreams. I would also extend the heartiest of gratitude to Oil and Natural Gas Corporation whose support was invaluable to us. Dalai Lama has said that the roots of all goodness lie in the soil of appreciation for goodness; I am grateful to each and every member of the Ivy Society, our fraternity, and our staff who recognize how to harmonize our process of growth with our ideals and principles. I am also proud of, and indebted to, our students who constantly show by their vitality and dauntlessness that it is indeed different to be disciples of Ivy High School and last, but not in any way the least, I am overwhelmed by our parents whose trust inspires us to move ahead.
Ivy Memorial is now no more a dream of mine, but a realisation of sorts for me and every individual attached to this institution. I look forward to reaching newer, even more elevated heights in the future.
Mr. Rajiv Negi
