Barriers

Enviormental Barriers

These are private and public buildings, schools, college, offices ,factories, shops, transport and communication system. The establishments do not provide any facilities for the disabled , thereby excluding them from the society .

Institutional Barriers

These include expulsion, exclusion and segregation from the key social institutions including education, employments, health, law, recreations etc. Direct and indirect discrimination against disabled people prevent them from taking full advantage of these provisions.

Attitudinal Barriers

The world today still looks and treats the disabled people with prejudice regards them as incapable, inadequate, drain on the family resource etc. This is a result born out of ignorance and misconceptions. it is important for us to remove this discrimination against the disabled.

Information Barriers

People with disability are not informed about schemes, benefits and concessions available for them. Parents are also not given a clear picture of there Childs disability which should be treated with sensitivity.
